"In no time everyone will consider alcohol-free printing as normal"

says Richard Kramer of Koninklijke De Vries in Sneek (NL). The company is making the complete switch to alcohol-free printing with Tower Millennium HSW-200EU fountain solution.


With almost a century and a half of experience, De Vries is a specialist in the field of folding cartons and packaging. Richard Kramer – production manager press: "here at De Vries we printed with alcohol for around fifty years, until the day we cleaned a Rapida 106 from Koenig & Bauer and started working with Tower Millennium HSW-200EU fountain solution. Within half an hour we printed 18,000 sheets per hour. The strange thing is that everyone thought that was normal."


Kramer does not hide his enthusiasm for alcohol-free printing with Tower Millennium HSW-200EU. "Before you take that step, try to get answers to questions. What are the risks? Is there an alternative? Can you easily go back after the switch? From the moment we cleaned the dampening system on one of our presses properly, we started printing. Problem-free. Afterwards you think: could’nt we have taken that step sooner?
